A wide aperture Newtonian reflector is the type of system that allows much more light to enter the telescope than you might expect. The focal length is 1000mm. It has a 100mm to 150 mm aperture and features a 3X Barlow lens that triples the magnification of the eyepieces. This means that you are able to make out deep-sky objects that would otherwise be invisible. An easy object to check out with the Celestron PowerSeeker is the moon. Although you can easily see the moon with your naked eye, this will add a new dimension to your view.
